KIDS IN CONSERVATION ALL THE WAY IN NEW ZEALAND
Sometimes the odds stacked against conservation and protection of our wildlife seem insurmountable, and despair can make an unwelcome appearance - and then something like this happens:
Lees Street Kindergarten, Invercargill, New Zealand. About as far away as you can get from Bumi Hills – and yet the small conservationists there know all about us, all about our operations, and gravely discuss the “lion with the wire on his paw” on a daily basis.
Lucy Parkhill, mother of Oliver who attends the pre school, and herself an ex Zimbabwean, made a presentation to the children, and it made a huge impact “I’m really just so touched at the level of interest from the children. One of the teachers says that they have daily discussion and questions, and it’s opened up a whole new world and way of thinking”
This is heartwarming and inspirational, and reminds us why we do what we do.
Thank you, Lucy, and the children, who are our future.
